TorqueMaster® safety counterbalance
Your garage door uses the energy of a spring wound very tightly (called a counterbalance) to help lift your door's weight. The Wayne-Dalton TorqueMaster® is the first counterbalance to seal springs safely within a steel tube.
This design helps prevent the accidental release of tension that could cause serious injury. Plus it looks much better and cleaner.
The TorqueMaster® counterbalance does not come standard with all Wayne-Dalton garage doors, so make sure you ask your dealer or retailer to include TorqueMaster® with your purchase. Considering how many years your new garage door will last, you'll be glad (and safer) that you did.
Pinch-resistant door panels
The Wayne-Dalton pinch-resistant garage door design is engineered to help eliminate injuries caused when fingers are caught in door panel joints during downward operation of the door. This is an important feature to Wayne-Dalton doors, as there can be injuries associated with standard garage door operation.

Polyurethane foamed-in-place insulation
Our Model 9700 garage doors have an R-value of 10. The doors are manufactured with polyurethane foamed-in-place insulation using a patented process. Polyurethane insulation delivers twice the thermal performance of polysterene insulation of the same thickness! It also adds strength and rigidity to the door panels and helps dampen sound transmission.
Bottom Weather Seal
In addition to insulation, our doors have a bottom weather seal. The bottom weather seal blocks drafts and helps save energy. It remains flexible even in extreme cold to keep the bad weather outside.
Windload options
Wayne-Dalton doors are available with Windload options in areas with the toughtest windload requirements. Engineered with special materials and hardware, Wayne-Dalton Windload Certified Garage Doors resist the severest storms. The Model 9700 comes with a Lifetime Limited Warranty.
Wayne-Dalton warrants the 9700 insulated garage door for as long as you own the door from the time of installation against structural failure (rendering the door inoperable) of the door sections due to separation/ degradation of foam insulation. Wayne-Dalton warrants the steel skin of the 9700 insulated garage door for as long as you own the door against deterioration such as cracking or splitting due to rust-through. Other items apply.
