Wayne-Dalton announces it's aggressive growth plans for residential garage door openers with the launch of the prodrive™ opener.

Prodrive is a new ceiling mounted garage door opener that offers homeowners and builders the choice of belt or chain drive options. It has been designed to be quiet and reliable and easy to sell and install.

The prodrive opener is offered in six models; 3 chain-drive models and 3 belt-drive models. All models come standard with a 7’ belt or chain rail, powerful ˝ hp motor, wired photo-eyes, complete installation hardware, and installation manual. Additional 8’ and 10’ rails in both belt and chain drive are available. Prodrive™ is available exclusively through Wayne-Dalton professional garage door dealers.

The prodrive™ engineering team focused on designing the opener to significantly reduce excessive noise and vibration. The resulting product shows itself to be the quietest ceiling-mount opener that Wayne-Dalton has ever offered, helping homeowners to lessen disturbance to rooms above and adjoining the garage. It also was designed to be extremely reliable with one the best warranties in the industry.

The design team also focused on making the installation easier. Accessories are ready to go straight out of the box. The transmitters and wall stations are pre-programmed to the operator head before leaving the factory to help reduce field installation time. The rail length has been extended by 6” to help overcome common installation-application issues where additional rail length is needed. As an added bonus, single tray packaging for quicker access to accessories and hardware along with easy-to-read color-action manuals have been meticulously designed for the installer’s benefit.

Another plus is that the prodrive opener head is interchangeable with either the belt or chain drive rail. This means that if a homeowner orders a chain drive opener, but decides at the last minute to change to belt drive, the installer can simply take the appropriate rail from his truck and switch them without having to also switch the opener head. This flexibility can save the installer an unnecessary trip back to the shop to get the correct opener, and frees up space on his truck.

The prodrive™ is compatible with more than 25 million Homelink®-equipped vehicles on the road, and is also compatible with Car2U™ systems found on most popular, new GM cars and trucks. It’s the advanced gateway to home automation and remote-controlled devices.
